Your safety and comfort are my top priority. I use professional cosmetic-grade face and body paints sourced from reputable suppliers. All products are designed specifically for use on skin and meet current safety standards. I hold full Public Liability Insurance, maintain an up-to-date DBS check, and follow strict hygiene procedures at every event.
Children must have permission from a parent or guardian before being painted. Parents, guardians, or the event host remain responsible for children at all times.
To protect health and wellbeing, I do not paint on skin that appears irritated, broken, infected, or affected by contagious conditions. This includes cold sores, conjunctivitis, chicken pox, open wounds, scabs, or other infectious skin complaints. I also avoid painting over cuts, grazes, spots, or broken skin to prevent irritation and cross-contamination.
Allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, anyone with sensitive skin or known allergies should inform me before painting. If needed, I can carry out a small patch test on the arm or hand.
I do not recommend face painting for children under three years old. For younger children, I may offer a small design on the arm or hand at my discretion.
For everyone’s comfort and safety, I may stop or decline painting if a child becomes distressed or cannot sit safely. I also refuse requests for designs, symbols, or wording that may cause offence.
Hygiene Practices
To maintain high standards of cleanliness:
You can remove water-based face paint with warm water and mild soap or baby shampoo. Occasionally, some colours may temporarily stain dry skin; applying moisturiser after washing can help.
If paint transfers onto clothing, soak the garment in cold water before normal washing.
All face painting, glitter application, glitter tattoos, face gems, and adhesive use remain the participant’s responsibility.
If you have any questions about health and safety, please feel free to get in touch. I am always happy to help.
